How to keep apples fresh

The weather has warmed up, and Brother Guo has received many friends' advice on how to keep the fruit fresh. Some fruits are afraid of heat and some fruits are afraid of cold. For example, most tropical fruits are afraid of cold and should not be kept in cold storage for a long time. Frostbitten fruits are not only damaged in nutrition, but also easily deteriorated. In a few days, the flesh will rot. So, what kind of fruit should be kept fresh? In fact, there are many kinds of storage methods for different fruits. Today, I have sorted out some common ones that are easier to understand. I hope they will be helpful to you.

Controlled atmosphere storage (CA) temperature: 2 ~ 8 ℃,

Storage time: 4 ~ 6 months

Oxygen content: 2% - 4%

Carbon dioxide content: 3% - 5%

The rest is nitrogen and trace inert gas

Humidity: 85% - 95%

The storage room shall be lowered to 0-5 ℃ in advance and the humidity shall be 85% - 95%. The storage of apples after precooling is beneficial to quickly adapt to the new storage environment. The temperature in the warehouse shall not fluctuate during warehousing

Common family storage: select healthy apples with high hardness, high acid content, heavy fruit powder, good coloring, no disease and insect, and no damage. Wrap them with a layer of white paper and put them neatly in cartons or wooden cases. They can be stored in a ventilated and low temperature place for 1-2 months without damage. For families with refrigerators, the apples can be wrapped and tied in plastic bags and placed in the lower layer of the refrigerator in turn, which can be stored for half a year.

Grape preservation

Since there is no post ripening process for grapes, the grapes used for storage should be harvested after the fruits are fully mature, and the grapes with insufficient maturity cannot be stored. Grapes should not be stacked. If some grapes are found to have gone bad, they should be separated and thrown away. If stacked together, the rotten grapes will deteriorate.

Storage conditions:

(1) The storehouse (room) shall be fully and comprehensively disinfected 2-3 days before fruit storage

(2) During grape storage, the temperature should be strictly controlled at - 1-2 ℃, and the air relative humidity should be controlled at 87% - 95%. Low temperature can reduce the respiratory intensity of fruit, but it should not be too low to prevent freezing damage. If the air humidity is too low, it is not conducive to keeping fresh. If the air humidity is too high, the fruit surface is prone to water droplets.

Home common save:

Refrigerate. If the grapes are washed, they must be refrigerated to slow down the deterioration as much as possible. The temperature should not be too low or too high. It can be around zero.

Seal with plastic wrap. Don't wash the grapes, put them in a plate and then seal them with plastic film to prevent a lot of air from slowing down the oxidation speed.
